What Customers Say About Grizzly G4000 9" x 19" Bench Lathe:

On the ways. Bought it and opened the crate to find.RUST RUST RUST everywhere. On the spidle, handles, and especially on the 'hardened' ways. That's like buying a new shotgun and finding rust in chamber and inside the barrel.First use, yupper, the tailstock broke.actually, some yung dung head at the Chicom factory DID NOT assemble it with a three cent keyway holder.Finish is rough, at best.it's just an over-priced Harbor Freight 9x19 lathe. Under powered, over priced. Now, to get my money back from Grizzley.
So I've had a $150 motor in my workshop for 2+ months, which is starting to rust by the way. The motor went on it about 3 months ago (with very light use - like once per month). I purchased this lathe about 1 1/2 years ago. And the parts I need are not supposed to be in by "the end of the month" - the same story as last month. Grizzly has still not been able to give me the parts I need, and my experience with customer service has been pathetic. For example, they shipped a motor, but not the other parts that were needed. So now I'm looking at basically throwing a $1000 purchase (including stand) in the trash. Unbelievable.
